Food for Sharks

 

Atlantic Menhaden (Brevoortia tyrannus), also known as Mossbunkers, are a common food for New Jersey Sharks. Sharks often drive them into shallow waters were they are trapped. At least one historical attack in the Navesink Estuary is the result of sharks following this abundant food source.
